Incumbents file for Piedmont city council seats

The incumbents for three Piedmont City Council seats have filed to stay in office, the Canadian County Election Board reports.

Ron Cardwell, 58, Rob Jones, 68, and Jonathan Hisey, 43, have filed to retain their seats on the council.

The incumbents did not face any challengers and no races are ahead this year.

Cardwell filed Monday in Ward 2, Jones filed in Ward 3 and Hisey filed in Ward 4.

Ron Cardwell won the Piedmont City Council race in 2021 for Ward II.

The candidate filings started Monday and went until Wednesday, Feb. 5-7 for the three seats on the Piedmont City Council.

Declarations of candidacy for Ward 2, Ward 3 and Ward 4 were accepted between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on those days at the Canadian County Election Board, 200 S Bickford in El Reno.

The seat open for council member Ward 2 is a three-year term.

The council member Ward 3 seat is for an unexpired two-year term.

The Ward 4 seat is a three-year term.
