CLEVELAND, Okla. – The losing streak is over.
Piedmont’s boys basketball team hammered Skiatook, 66-32, Friday afternoon at the Cleveland Invitational to snap a 16-game losing skid that dated back to Feb. 20, 2020.
Jayce Daniels led a balanced attack with 13 points. Colton Sydnes and Blaine Taylor chipped in 11 points and Garrett Hahn added eight.
“We’ve been talking to our guys a lot about once you get into habit of not finishing games, it’s hard to break that habit,” head coach Wil Scofield said. “This is definitely going to build some confidence.”
PHS (1-3) led from start to finish Friday after losing its opening round game to Muldrow on Thursday.
The Wildcats will face Ponca City on Saturday in Cleveland. Ponca has a pair of 6-foot-7 players PHS will have to contend with.
“I expect our guys to compete,” Scofield said.
