Piedmont and Guthrie will play for a district championship tonight in Piedmont.

Piedmont and Guthrie will meet in Piedmont tonight to decide a district title.

First pitch is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. in the Lady Wildcats’ sparkling new stadium.

Piedmont (24-3) edged Guthrie (15-5) 4-3 in their previous meeting this season.

Karissa Fiegener leads the way for Piedmont with a .522 average, seven home runs and 36 RBI’s. Tayvin Davis has scored a team-best 29 runs.

Piedmont has three pitchers with at least 27 innings of work, but Hannah Nieuwnehuis leads the staff with a 9-1 record in 56 innings. She has a 2.62 ERA and 62 strikeouts this season. Payten Schibbelhute and Addison Underwood can also be counted on in the circle.

The Lady ‘Cats have lost two of their last three games after rattling off 20 straight wins. Guthrie lost to Owasso 6-0 in its last game.
