The Piedmont Fire Department will receive a donation for the fire truck from The Canadian County Republican Party at 7 p.m. Monday, July 13 at the fire station.
Jeramy Carns, Canadian County Republican Party Chairman, will make the donation to the department for a Piedmont fire truck.
“There is equipment that will be for the new truck,” Carns said.
“We believe in public safety and we want to do what we can to help,” Carns said.
Piedmont City Manager Jason Orr, city council members, firefighters and others are expected to attend.
A check will be presented to Fire Chief Andy Logan.
Logan said the donation is appreciated for the new fire truck. Tools and equipment will be purchased for engine four.
“It is a wonderful, generous donation and we are happy and proud to receive it,” Logan said.
Firefighters were busy with a number of grass fires during the Fourth of July holiday weekend, but none were serious or caused property damage, Logan said.
The Piedmont fundraiser in April was canceled due to COVID-19.
