A trio of Wildcats was selected to the 2019 Oklahoma Fastpitch Coaches Association large west All-State team this week.
Seniors Chloe Bohuslavicky, Rikki Hadley and Kenedi Morelock will represent Piedmont in the All-State game at Oklahoma Christian University in June. All three played key roles in leading the Wildcats to the Class 5A state championship last month and to a 27-8 record overall.
Bohuslavicky was selected as the starting pitcher. She went 21-5 overall with a 2.47 earned run average and 89 strikeouts. She also hit .406 with eight home runs and seven doubles while driving in 38 runs.
Hadley was tabbed as a starting corner infielder. She finished with a .495 batting average and 49 hits, including eight home runs, nine doubles and four triples while driving in 55 runs. She also stole 13 bases.
Morelock was selected as a starting middle infielder after hitting .450 with 50 hits and 46 runs scored. She also led the Wildcats with 48 steals and was big defensively with a .977 fielding percentage.
All three will continue their softball careers at the collegiate level. Bohuslavicky signed with Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Hadley signed with East Central University in Ada and Morelock signed with Southwestern Oklahoma State University Weatherford.
Piedmont’s three selections were tied for the most from any school on the large west roster. Joining them from Class 5A will be Zadie LaValley (C), Hannah Williams (P) and Aaliyah Brown (C, UTIL) from Carl Albert, Lauren Blankenship (INF) from Ardmore, and Elizabeth Hall (P) from Woodward.
The 2020 All-State games are slated for Saturday, June 6 at OC in Edmond. The large school game is scheduled for 10 a.m.
