Piedmont school board incumbent wins post
Piedmont school board deputy clerk Jerrod Moser won handily over challenger Courtney Davis in the race for a seat on the board’s Ward 3, Tuesday, April 1.
With 14 of 14 precincts counted, Moser had 216 votes, 72.97% and Davis had 80 votes, 27.03%.
Piedmont Public Schools had an unexpired board seat, Ward 3, for the remaining three years to fill.
Moser had 25 absentee votes over Davis who had 21 absentee votes, according to the Oklahoma State Election Board. There were two early votes cast in favor of Davis for a margin of just two votes separation, 25 for Moser, 52.08% to Davis, 23 votes, 47.92% for the early vote that was reported before the 14 precincts in the Piedmont Public School District were counted Tuesday night by the state election board.
Greg Duffy, who died in 2023, served on the board before Moser in Ward 3. Moser, 53, filed for the position in December.

Davis has worked for EnLink Midstream as a training supervisor for 10 years, as a diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI, action team member, and has a bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, complemented by a minor in elementary education. She has lived in Piedmont since 2020. She has three children currently attending schools within the Piedmont school district—one in kindergarten, another in sixth grade, and a freshman in high school.
Her campaign information read, “I am running because I believe in enhancing the educational experience for all students. I am committed to advocating for educational excellence and being a supportive resource for both students and teachers, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment for everyone,” Davis wrote in an email.
Derek Jones, school board clerk, currently serves in Ward 5. Jones, 46, filed for the position unopposed and will serve for a full five-year term.
School board members in Piedmont represent residents in specific areas of the district, or wards. Ward 3, that Moser currently represents, is on the southwest side of the district. Ward 5, represented by Jones, is on the southeast side of the district.
Part of the northern side of the Piedmont School District is in Kingfisher County.
Here are some dates ahead to mark for the Piedmont Public Schools District for the rest of the spring 2025 semester.
April 18, no school.
May 22, last day of school.
