The icy weather was enough to call off school in Piedmont Wednesday, and Thursday will be needed as a snow day too.
“Due to hazardous neighborhood and side road conditions, as well as slick sidewalks and parking lots on school grounds, Piedmont Public Schools will be closed on Thursday, February 13th. This means no school and no assignments for the day. CV Tech buses will not run Thursday, February 13th,” a district announcement reads.
Classes were canceled, the Piedmont Public Schools District announced for Wednesday.
“Due to impending inclement weather, Piedmont Public Schools will have a traditional snow day tomorrow, Wednesday, February 12th. This means no school and no assignments for the day.
Canadian Valley Technology Center buses will not run on Wednesday, February 12th.
The National Weather Service forecast called for rain or freezing rain before 10 a.m. Wednesday with northwest winds gusting up to 26 mph and a high temperature near 33 degrees.
