Dennis George Watson, of Piedmont, Oklahoma, passed away April 25, 2024.
One of six children born to Robert Earl and Audrey Mae (Evans) Watson, Dennis was born October 21, 1952 in Hayward, California. Dennis served in the United States Marine Corps during Vietnam and was honorably discharged at the rank of Corporal. He went on to receive his master’s degree in religion. He also worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a customer service manager being his last position.
Dennis married his sweetheart Marilyn on December 3, 1995 and they would have celebrated 29 wonderful years together this December. He was a true family man putting them first. Dennis would want to be remembered as a loving dad and husband. His perfect day would be spent with Marilyn, Snow, and Annie. Dennis’ family learned punctuality from Dennis and certainly honor as well. Dennis earned a Purple Heart while serving in the USMC. He was a member of the American Legion.
Dennis was preceded in death by both of his parents, his sisters Bobbie Connell, Juanita Priebat, and Dee Dee Neely. He leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Marilyn Watson; children Chris Watson of Colorado, Julie and Jed Chappell of Edmond, OK, Carly Watson of OKC, OK; step-children Tabitha Phillips of OKC and Mike and Debbie Phillips of Piedmont, OK; siblings Robert and Patricia Watson of Eugene, OR and Mona and Chris Rock of Destin, FL; brother-in-law Jerry Priebat; grandchildren Conner Smith of Ratliff City, OK, Angel Chappell of Tulsa, OK, Kyler Smith of Norman, OK, Jaxon Chappell of OKC, Katie Phillips of Piedmont, OK, Tiffany Watson of Guthrie, OK, Ryan Ellis of Guthrie, OK; six great-grandchildren; 21 nieces and nephews and his fur babies Snow and Annie.
A Celebration of Dennis’ life will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, 2024, at Victory Church, 4300 N. MacArthur Blvd., Warr Acres, OK 73122
