One of the state’s top defenders is off the market.

Piedmont’s Brogan Hardy verbally committed to the University of Central Oklahoma’s football program Monday.

“It felt like home. I really liked the coaches, the facilities and the players,” Hardy told The Piedmont-Surrey Gazette, “and, it’s a plus that it’s right down the road.

“This feels really good after all the hard work I have put in. This is something I’ve dreamed of since I was a kid.”

Hardy’s older brother Bo, is a walk-on linebacker at Oklahoma State and someone that Brogan has looked up to since childhood.

“He’s had a huge impact on my career,” Brogan explained. “He’s always there for me and has been a great example to look up to in sports and in life.”
