Darrel & Dolores Booth

Darrel LaRue Booth entered fully into the Kingdom of God on Thursday, December 6, 2023 after 87 years of life on this earth.  He was born on June 12, 1936, in Holdenville, Oklahoma to Goldean Aultman and Travis Denny, and later adopted by Lloyd Booth and spent his remaining childhood years being raised as a “Sooner” in Holdenville, Oklahoma.

In loving memory of Dolores Booth (Konieczny), a beloved mother, devoted wife, cherished daughter, adored sister, grandmother (Memi), Aunt, and a devout member of the Christian community.  Dolores, age 84, departed this world and entered unto the presence of the Lord on October 18, 2020.  She passed peacefully at the Agape Road Hospice surrounded by love.  Due to extenuating circumstances, we were not able to timely celebrate her life; therefore, we thought it only fitting to do so at the same time as her husband and life partner.

Darrel and Dolores Booth

Darrel and Dolores met in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on a blind date that lasted 24 hours.  After a year-long courtship, they married on December 1, 1956 and began their nearly 64- year journey together.  To know them individually was special, but to know them together was extraordinarily beautiful.  While they embarked on new adventures with military and police service during their early years of marriage, and again with settling in Oklahoma and raising a family, they developed other hobbies and interests such as serving in the Oklahoma Paint Horse Association and community, owning and operating the Rainbow Auction Service, and extensive travel exploration throughout the United States to name a few.

But their true passion was philanthropy and serving others, with special emphasis on serving children of the world.  Throughout their lives they served their community on the Piedmont City Council and the Piedmont Senior Citizens group.  They were members of Shriners International serving the Shriners Hospitals for Children.  They held key leadership positions in Kiwanis International and Key Club serving the Children’s Miracle Network, and they served with the Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) to advocate for troubled and underprivileged children.

Darrel and Dolores were inspiring parents to surviving children Darrel Booth, Michelle Hollingsworth, Teresa Roush and Scott Booth, beloved grandparents to surviving grandchildren, Kellee and Quay Moore and Dayna Farley, and faithful friends to many.  They left an indelible mark on the many lives they served and touched.

Please join our family as we honor and celebrate the lives of Darrel and Dolores Booth on January 11, 2024 at 2 p.m. at The Bridge Church, 4050 Edmond Rd NE, Piedmont, OK 73078.
