The Piedmont girls cross country team placed first overall at the regional meet in Mustang Saturday, Oct. 21.
Sophomore Piedmont Wildcats cross country runner Claire Collins placed third overall with a time of 18:32.98. Her teammates, Emily Caldwell was fifth overall, 19:13.20, and Brooke Collins, seventh, 19:21.95. With Anna Caldwell finishing ninth, 19:33.19, and the four sisters led the team to the top overall finish in the Class 6A regional meet at Mustang’s Wildhorse Park.
Piedmont girls topped Deer Creek, second, Edmond Memorial, third, Norman High fourth and Edmond Santa Fe fifth.
For Piedmont, Anna Caldwell finished ninth with a time of 19:33.18.
McKenna Auringer finished 25th with a time of 20:45.84.
Norman North High School finished sixth overall and Yukon finished seventh, qualifying for the state meet.
Other schools in the 5K race were Mustang, finishing eighth, Lawton Eisenhower, ninth, Southmoore, 10th, Northwest Classen, 11th, Lawton, 12th, U.S. Grant, 13th, and Capitol Hill, finishing in 14th place overall.
Boys finish third overall
The boys finished third behind Mustang and the top team Deer Creek.
Dade Humes finished fourth with a time of 16:25. Cohen McIntosh finished 14th with a time of 16:49.
Riley Pauley finished 18th, 16:57. Landry Finch finished 25th, 17:20.
Landon Jones finished 29th, 17:25. Beckam Humes was 32nd, 17:29.
Jackson Scott finished 41st, 17:50.
