Piedmont High School basketball coach Brandon Jackson has announced that the Wildcats will host three summer basketball camps that will be staffed by current PHS players and coaches.

The first of two skills camps for kids in grades kindergarten through eighth will be held May 22-25. The camp will run daily from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 and will cost $125 per person.

A second skills camp also open to kids in grades kindergarten through eighth is planned for July 10-13. The camp will last from 8:30 a.m. to noon each day and is $125 per person.

“This camp is focused on the fundamentals of shooting and handling the basketball. Drills will be based on skill level so that all players improve,“ Jackson said. “The campers will be instructed in technique drills, ball handling, post moves, footwork, set-shooting and jump-shooting. The last day we will put the skills we used into an 5-on-5 tournament”

Each camper will be provided a camp t-shirt and numerous drills to take home with them, Jackson said.

A team camp open to seventh and eighth grade students who reside inside the Piedmont School District is scheduled for June 12-13 and will run from 9 a.m. to noon. The cost is $60.

All camp sessions will be held at the Wildcat Athletic Center or the gymnasium located inside the high school.
