Gloria Jean (Rice) West, 80, of Yukon passed from this life to her heavenly home on Friday, February 25, 2022. Gloria was born on the family farm on January 10, 1942, to William Clinton and Myrtle Marie Rice of Eldorado, Oklahoma. She was the seventh of eight children.
She attended school in her hometown of Eldorado, Oklahoma where she was raised, and developed many lifelong relationships that were maintained up until her death. In school, Gloria excelled in her studies; she played on the girls’ basketball team and participated in Glee Club and theatre. Gloria particularly loved her home economics classes.
Gloria married Roy Emory West, her high school sweetheart and husband of 59 years on April 27, 1959. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church of Yukon, Oklahoma where the family was charter members.
She attended El Reno Junior College where she obtained an Associate of Arts degree, graduating Phi Theta Kappa with honors. Gloria began her career at Lucent Technologies (formerly Western Electric) in 1964 and retired after 26 years. Gloria was very involved in Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), the Huguenot Society, and the Yukon Historical Society.
Gloria is survived by one sister, Clara Duckers of Conroe, TX; her four children, Debi Ridgeway and husband, Alan of Yukon; Sarah Doherty and husband, Terry of Yukon; Chris West and wife, Kelly of Mustang; and Laura Miller and husband, Mark of Edmond; as well as 10 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, 6 siblings, her husband, and one granddaughter.

Viewing will be held 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., with the family receiving friends from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon, OK. Celebration of life services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, at Trinity Baptist Church, 620 N. Cemetery Rd., Yukon, with interment following at the Yukon Cemetery.
