Justin and Jessica Davis of Edmond are the founders of Bright Sky Ministry. They raise money to help foster families.
“We founded Bright Sky three years ago,” Justin Davis said. “We buy essentials for foster families throughout the state of Oklahoma and ship them all over the state. We’re on track to help almost 1,000 foster kids this year. It’s been a busy year for us for sure but it’s great to have fundraisers like this, (Turkey Trot) to help support it.”
Those who register can get a T-shirt, swag bag and a finisher medal. There will be an award for the person in the best costume.
The top male and female costumes for youth and adults will win prizes.
Keri Layton said she can run in the turkey costume.
“It’s not too bad It’s just a big turkey onesie.”
The Turkey Trot starts at 8:30 a.m. Thursday at 15 Jackson Ave. N.W. In Piedmont.
