Piedmont’s state championship softball team has, predictably, dominated postseason award season.

Leading the way were Karissa Fiegener, who was named District 5A-2 Player of the Year, and head coach Keith Coleman, who was chosen as the Class 5A/6A Oklahoma Fast Pitch Coaches Association Coach of the Year.

That was not close to all, though. Payten Schibbelhute was honored as 5A-2 Pitcher of the Year while battery-mate Aubrey Pyle earned 5A-2 first team honors at catcher.

Third baseman Tayvin Davis was named 5A-2 first team at her position and outfielder Tylar Short also landed a first team All-District nod.

Rounding out the first team selections were Paige Atha and Hannah Nieuwenhuis, who made the cut as utility selections.

Peyton Gray, Paislee Clark, Taybor Moss and Addison Cassady made the second team.

Piedmont went 35-7 overall and earned a 2-1 win over Coweta to claim their second state title in three seasons.
