Piedmont’s Crawford helps West team to All-State win

Delanie Crawford’s final prep basketball game ended like so many of the others before.

With a win.

The Piedmont star scored seven points in the West’s 55-51 win over the East team in the annual Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State game played at Jenks High School Wednesday evening.

As a senior, Crawford posted 15.3 points, 7.4 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.8 steals per game, while shooting at a 48.6% clip from the field, 38% from three-point range and 80% from the free throw line.

In 2019, Crawford led Piedmont to its second state title in program history while averaging 18.3 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.0 steals and 1.8 assists per game.

A 5-foot-10 guard, Crawford is signed to play at the University of Tulsa next season.

TEWELL, BUCKRIDGE WIN ALL-STATE MATCHES

Tyler Tewell and Levi Buckridge of Piedmont each dominated in the final high school matches of their wrestling careers.

Tewell (120 pounds) pinned Pryor’s Tanner Cousatte in the second period while Buckridge (126 pounds) earned a 12-4 major dec. over Angelo Reyes of Shawnee.

The West team won the dual over the East, 45-12.

Buckridge finished third at the 2021 5A state tournament. Tewell was fifth at 113 pounds.

MYATT TAKES PART IN ALL-STATE VOLLEYBALL GAME
Gracie Myatt took part in the All-State game at Bixby High School last week.

Myatt, an outside hitter for the Wildcats, earned Piedmont Offensive Player of the Year in 2021.

She has signed to play at Northwestern Oklahoma State next season.
