The Piedmont Lady Wildcats took a two-point lead into halftime in their basketball opener against Lawton MacArthur Tuesday night, but fell behind in the second half and went cold from the field.

The cats were up 23-21 at the start of the third period at Collett Fieldhouse. But the Lady ‘Cats lost 47 to 33.

The 2019 defending state champions in Class 5A, are in their first game of the season after COVID-19 cancellations.

The Lady Wildcats are led by Delanie Crawford, who has signed a letter of intent to play at Tulsa University. Her sister Jillian Crawford, a sophomore joined her as one of the starters in the season opener.
