Piedmont’s Joey Mars scored to pull the Wildcats to within 19 points in the fourth quarter at Bishop McGuinness High School’s Pribil Stadium Friday, but the Wildcats lost 33-14.

Irish quarterback Luke Tarman had over 200 yards rushing and threw two touchdown passes. Piedmont lost three fumbles in the game.

A Tarman pass as time ran out in the first half was intercepted by Piedmont on the Wildcats’ goal line. After receiving the second half kickoff. Quarterback Levi Davis fumbled on the first possession at the 20-yard line.

The offense put together a 96-yard touchdown drive after a McGuinness fumble on a fourth and 1 at the Wildcats goal line when Tarman lost the handle on the snap in the fourth quarter.
