Piedmont’s boys varsity cross country team topped the field Saturday at the Pre-State meet at Edmond Santa Fe High School.
The 5A boys team finished first overall, and Beckam Hartis placed third in the varsity boys’ 5K. Tahlequah’s team finished second and Guymon was third.
Beckam’s time of 16:21:29 followed first place finisher Gage Mcelhaney of Elgin, 16:17 and second place Travis Meadows, Duncan , 16:20:17.
Piedmont’s Tanner Bailey finished eighth, 16:52:13, and was followed by team members Fares Maarouf, 10th, 16:57:39; Colby Ferbrache, 11th, 17:09:93; Jesus Orquiz, 16th, 17:31:01; Dade Humes, 24th, 17:49.29; and Titus Johnson, 33rd, 18:19:85.
