Lisa Marie Long

Lisa Marie Long, 32, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 20, 2020 in Piedmont, OK. Lisa was born to William Harry Long and Patricia Ann (Boulware) Long on February 3, 1988, in Oklahoma City, OK.

Lisa was born with a love and passion for all animals. She rescued and saved any animal that was injured or orphaned: bugs, frogs, skunks, bunnies, cats or dogs, it did no matter what it was. She wanted to save it and help it. She had that same passion and care for the people she came into contact with. Lisa always listened and people knew she cared. It did not matter if you were a grumpy old man or a fussy little baby. She always had an infectious smile and kind words. Lisa would give you the shirt off her back if you needed it.
Lisa enjoyed sports and played softball for many years. She was an extraordinary athlete and could play any position on the field. She was an outstanding pitcher and hit her fair share of homeruns.

She graduated from Piedmont High School and found a career she loved. She was an accomplished pet groomer and especially loved to groom dogs. Lisa worked for and loved Jonie and Larry Erhman at the Groom closet in Enid, OK. They were like a second family.
When Lisa was 22 years old, she was diagnosed with a serious heart disease and was unable to continue her career. Her hobbies then became reading, sketching, cooking and caring for her pets. She enjoyed having helpful and meaningful conversations with people. Lisa became such a voracious reader with almost one book every day. Her favorite authors include Mary Higgins Clark, Stephen King and a wide range of authors.

Lisa and her best friend/brother Ryan loved UFC, WWF and boxing. She had as much knowledge about boxing as a sports broadcaster.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Orville and Mary Margaret Boulware, Aunt Betty Jean Caldwell Robertson; grandparents, Richard and Josephine Noblitt; grandfather, Odus Long, uncles, Donald Long and Jim McGinley, and a number of other extended family members.

Lisa is survived by Ryliegh, her rescue dog; her parents, Patricia and Bill Long; brother, Ryan Long; sister, Stacy Wells and husband, Michael and their children, Maddy and Sidney; aunt and uncle, Ronny and Sue Long and their children, Danny & Shana with granddaughter, Shiela Hines; cousins, Ronny Dale Long and his daughter, Cameron, cousin, Mary Ann Allen and children, cousins, Jeremy McGinley, Jimmy, Jordan Collin, Zoe, Isabelle McGinley, Marissa, Austin Allen and their expectant son, Avery, Celeste Sickler and her husband, Mike and son, Gavin, Cara and husband, Lars and son, Mason Bieberstein, her special aunt, Debbie McGinley. She also leaves behind a host of extended family and friends to cherish her memory.

Lisa was so grateful to all the staff at the McDonalds and the Express store for the pleasant fellowship and the personal attention they gave her, in the mornings when she made her coffee run almost every day.

The Piedmont Community was always part of Lisa’s day as well. She loved all her friends and the support they gave her. She touched so many people and that gave her power.
A special thanks to the Piedmont Fire Department and Andy Logan who saved her many times (in miraculous ways).

A funeral service in honor of Lisa took place on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. and she has been laid to eternal rest at Resurrection Memorial Cemetery.
