Dining in may be allowed, but not all Piedmont area restaurant owners were ready to start serving people seated at tables or booths inside on Friday.

A number of area restaurants remained open for carry-out or delivery only.

Piedmont is following Gov. Stitt’s  “Open Up and Recover Safely” plan. Restaurants can serve customers who dine inside.

At Piedmont Chinese & American Cuisine, the restaurant remained open Friday for carry-out only. The owner had not announced a day to return to dining in.

At the Colony Pointe shopping complex at Piedmont Road and Northwest Expressway, dining inside Heartland Pub & Grill, was not yet an option Friday afternoon, a man who answered the telephone said. Bars have not reopened in the area.

Another area restaurant owner was worried about criticism for reopening “too soon” during the pandemic in some opinions, he said.
