Next elections to be held June 30; delay due to COVID-19 emergency declaration

The pandemic has affected city council races in Piedmont.

Races for Ward 3 and Ward 5 scheduled for April 7, were postponed due to the state of emergency over COVID-19.

In Ward 3, the candidates are Ryan Austin Redus, incumbent Albert “Al” Gleichmann, Megan Dawson and Austin Rohrs.

In Ward 5, the candidates are Mandy Swatek and incumbent Melissa Ashford.

The council has proclaimed a state of emergency until March 31, and the next regularly scheduled meeting will be April 27.

As of Wednesday, several patients in critical to stable conditions were being treated at Integris Canadian Valley Hospital in Yukon.
