Kaylie Marshall stepped up in a big way last weekend.

The freshman helped lead Piedmont’s volleyball team to a pair of wins in the 2019 Bethany Tournament Saturday and was named to the All-Tournament team, earning her the Piedmont Player of the Week nomination this week.

“She had 29 kills and only four hitting errors on the day,” coach Tom Williams said. “That’s impressive. She also played well on the back row and did a good job serving.”

Marshall’s 29 kills and 57-percent kill percentage led the team in four matches at the tournament. She also finished with three aces and went 18-for-19 on serves while racking up eight digs and seven solo blocks defensively.

Marshall and the Wildcats travel to Enid Tuesday and Shawnee Thursday before two more road games at Chisholm and Noble next week. They return home Sept. 26 to host Weatherford.
