Four Wildcat athletes set for 2019 OCA All-State events

Four Piedmont athletes are set to compete in Oklahoma Coaches Association All-State events in the final two weeks of July.

Maci Attalla, Regan Crawford, Hunter Oden and Josh Heindselman will all compete in events across three sports, including basketball, golf and wrestling.

Attalla and Crawford will represent the girls basketball team, playing for the Large West All-State squad Wednesday at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa at 8:30 p.m. Attalla finished second on the team in scoring in 2019 at 13.3 points per game while averaging seven rebounds. Crawford averaged 9.9 points per game and nearly two steals per game as well.

The duo helped lead Piedmont to the 2019 Class 5A state championship.

Oden will compete in the All-State golf tournament Monday at Cherokee Hills Golf Club in Catoosa, starting at 8:30 a.m. Oden was a dominant force on the links for Piedmont this season, capping his high school career with a second-place finish at the 2019 Class 5A State Tournament.

Heindselman will compete in the All-State wrestling dual Wednesday at Sand Springs at 7 p.m. The Oklahoma-signee captured his second straight state championship in 2019, winning at heavyweight fter winning at 220 pounds in 2018. He was also named All-Conference and All-Conference Most Outstanding Wrestler.

The Oklahoma Coaches Association also recognizes cheerleaders, including Piedmont’s Shekinah Phillips who was named to the 2019 Large West roster.
