Class of 2019 graduation ceremony has been rescheduled for tomorrow at 1 p.m. due to the weather. Here is the statement sent out by the district:
“Due to the high risk of severe weather throughout this evening, Piedmont High School Graduation has been postponed. Graduation will take place tomorrow, Tuesday, May 21st, at 1:00 PM, at the Oklahoma State Fairgrounds. Doors will open at 11:00 AM.
We apologize for the inconvenience this causes our families and community. Unfortunately, there simply is not a metro-area facility available in the evening hours this week that can accommodate the over 5,000 people expected to attend commencement exercises. As always, the safety and well-being of our students, staff, and families is our top priority.
All Piedmont High School students will be dismissed at 11:40. Bus routes will run for high school students at that time. K-8th grade bus routes will run as regularly scheduled.”
