SHAWNEE – The Piedmont boys track team finished sixth while the girls finished 10th at the 2019 Oklahoma Baptist University Bison High School Invitational.
The Wildcat teams combined for 18 top-10 finishes, including wins in three events.
The boys were spurred by nine top-10s, including a win by Jadon Barker in the 3200-meter run with a time of 10:24.67. Gibson Barlow finished fourth in the event with a time of 10:54.97 and Beckam Hartis finished fifth with a time of 11:06.77.
Blake Cope finished second in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:01.32. Jacob Brightwell finished 11th in the event with a time of 2:12.24. Paul Welch finished third in the 1600-meter run with a time of 4:45.06 while Barker finished seventh with a time of 4:55.61.
Zaire Bartee picked up two top-10s in the field, including a fourth-place finish in the long jump and a fifth-place finish in the high jump. Piedmont’s 4×800-meter relay team finished eighth with a time of 8:40.29.
Delanie Crawford led the way for the girls, winning the 1600-meter run with a time of 5:40.80. Sydnei Storts finished sixth in the event with a time of 6:15.54.
Crawford also finished fourth in the 800-meter run with a time of 2:31.83 while sister Regan Crawford finished ninth with a time of 2:37.76. Regan also finished eighth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:05.66 while Maddy Lee finished ninth with a time of 1:06.00. Kaelen Edwards finished eighth in the 200-meter dash with a time of 27.18.
Piedmont’s 4×800-meter relay team picked up a win as well with a time of 10:12.76 while the 4×200-meter team finished eighth.
The Wildcats now turn the page to the 2019 Conference Meet April 26 after nearly a week off from hosting the 2019 Piedmont meet at F&M Bank Stadium.
