Boys Basketball: Piedmont’s five-game win streak snapped with loss at No.7 Lawton MacArthur

LAWTON – No. 15 Piedmont snapped its five-game winning streak Tuesday night on the road, falling to No. 7 Lawton Mac, 80-69.

Piedmont fell behind early as Mac jumped out to a 21-15 lead after the first eight minutes and extended it to 40-29 at halftime.

But with a huge third-quarter run, the Cats held a 60-59 lead with eight minutes remaining.

Mac wasn’t phased however, going on a 21-9 run to close out Piedmont’s first loss in six games.

Senior Dylan Hahn led all scorers with 37 points on 12-for-21 shooting, including 9-for-14 from three-point range.

Hahn nearly picked up a double-double, finishing with nine rebounds as well as two assists.
Senior Hunter Oden and junior Doran Hillman each chipped in 11 points.

Oden dished out a team-high four assists while Hillman capped his double-double effort with 13 rebounds.

Mac was able to control in the inside, scoring 34 points in the paint and 15 second-chance points off 15 offensive rebounds.

The Cats also allowed 27 points off 20 team turnovers.

Each team shot near 40-percent as a team while Piedmont out-shot Mac from three-point range with 13 makes to nine.

The Cats look to bounce back in their final regular season game Friday night at Ponca City. Tip-off is scheduled for 8 p.m.
