Andrew Henry Fiegener

Andrew Henry Fiegener, living a full 95 years, passed peacefully into eternal life on Nov. 20th, 2018, in his home surrounded by family.

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and for many, a favorite neighbor. Born on March 4,1923 in Thomas, Oklahoma, he was the son of Casper John and Clara Oberst Fiegener.

His early education was in Thomas, and he graduated from Holy Trinity High School in Okarche, Okla. in 1941. In 1942 he went to Washington D.C. to work with the FBI in the fingerprint division, while also attending classes at George Washington University.

In February, 1943 he joined the Air Force. He spent the next three years in the European Theater, primarily near Peterborough, England, at a base for AP 51 fighter planes. After D-Day, he was stationed at a base for 8-17 fighter planes, in charge of logistics for the transport of G.I.s all over Europe.

After completing his military service, he returned home and married Marie Knecht in 1948. He farmed for the next 40 years. He loved the land and caring for the cattle. Andy and Marie were blessed with seven children, 16 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Education was important to Andy and he worked hard to ensure all his children received a quality education. He was proud that six of them received college degrees.

Andy and Marie were very involved members of St. Charles Borromeo parish. Later, they were founding members of Church of the Epiphany of the Lord.

Andrew was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Viola Carroll, Irene Phillips, Rosalinda Fiegener, Theresa Shirey, and Kathleen Teague; his brother Roger; and Marie, his wife of 69 years.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Kathy Richard and husband Bill, son Mike Fiegener, daughter Paula Greenburg and husband Fred Probis, son Robert Fiegener and wife Amy, daughter Carla Ruetenik and husband Monty, son Chris Fiegener, son Lee Fiegener and wife Kristin, as well as grandchildren Kyle, Kirk, Seth, Courtney, Aaron, Tyler, Travis, Andy, Tom, Mark, Chase, Colton, Karissa, Jayde, Kade, Gabe and 15 great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers the family would like to suggest a donation to Birth Choice of Okla., Inc. P.O. Box 94533, Oklahoma City, OK 73143, one of Andy’s favorite charities.

Graveside service will be held Sat., Dec 8 at 1 p.m. at Holy Trinity Cemetery, 900 220th St NW, Okarche, OK.
