Barbara Joan Fina

This week Barbara Joan Fina was welcomed into the arms of the Lord. Although she will be greatly missed on earth by her family and friends, she is celebrating eternal life with her beloved mother Susan and all the family members she so gently provided care for in their final days.

Barbara was an incredibly strong and compassionate matriarch of the Fina family. She had an extraordinary ability to positively impact every person she met. Her life on earth may have come to an end, but her presence will live on for generations.

Barbara was born Sept. 3, 1943 and died Oct. 27, 2018.

Barbara grew up on a dairy farm in Collinsville, OK where she attended school through graduation. She was proud to be a Collinsville Cardinal, explaining her lifelong affinity for the bird. In high school she was a member of the band and honored as an FFA Sweetheart.

She attended college at Oklahoma Baptist University and the University of Tulsa, where she studied finance.

Professionally she worked as a bookkeeper, but prided herself as a homemaker. She was married to her husband George Fina for 54 years. She held the honorary title of First Lady of Piedmont while George was mayor. Barbara was a devout Catholic spending most of her adult life as a member of St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church in Yukon.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Susan Schroeder. She is survived by husband George, brother Wesley Schroeder and wife, Glenda; daughter Ann Stolfa and husband Roland; sons Mike Fina and fiancé Chris Alsobrooks; Jerry Fina and wife Sherri; and Mel Fina and wife Tammy.

She held a special relationship with her grandson Zach Pratt, but equally loved all 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren, as well as her numerous nieces and nephews.
Viewing for Barbara will be Thursday, Nov. 1 from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. at Yanda & Son Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon. Following the viewing a Rosary and Vigil will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, November 2 at 11 a.m. at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church and finally laid to rest at Kansas Cemetery in Piedmont. Today the world is a little darker, but Heaven is so much brighter, you will be missed.

Arrangements under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home in Yukon.
