Evelyn Lucille Howard of Okarche died May 20, 2018 at St. Ann Nursing Home in Oklahoma City.

A prayer service was held at 7 p.m. on Friday (May 25) and Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. on Saturday (May 26) both services at Holy Trinity Church in Okarche with Rev. John Peter Swaminathan and Deacons Max Schwarz and John Teague officiating.

Burial followed at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Oklahoma City under the direction of Huber-Benson Funeral Home.

Lucille was born June 21, 1925 at Okemah. She lived in Okarche for 64 years and was the cafeteria manager for the Okarche Public Schools for 26 years. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church, the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas and enjoyed cooking, word search, visiting with people and eating at the Tower Cafe.

On July 12, 1941 Lucille married James L. Howard, Sr. He preceded her in death on June 5, 1989. She was also preceded in death by her father, Forest D. Greenlee; mother, Laura D. (Garrison) Bryen; son, James Howard, Jr.; step-brother, Cecil Bryen and son-in-law, Doug Campbell.

Lucille is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Jerry Campbell of Okarche and Shirley and Richard Maxey of Yukon; son and daughter-in-law, Rick and Maria Howard of Yukon; sister-in-law, Martha Jo Bryen of Waco, Tex.; 13 grandchildren, John Campbell of Elizabeth City, N.C., Michael James Meyer, Dane Meyer and Trey Maxey all of Yukon, Torie Soulek of Edmond, Kyle Dane Howard of Okarche, Jennifer Lujan and Shellie Gillespie both of Redlands, Calif., Roman Solorzano and Aaron Solorzano both of McAllen, Tex., Curtis Howard of Mobile, Ala., and Brenda Hobbs and Anita Cichella both of Tracy, Calif.; 26 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
