Priddy shines for West in All-State Game

Daniel Smola

MOORE – Today was about going out and having fun.

Piedmont’s Hayden Priddy represented the Ladycats in the 2015 Large All-City Girls basketball game on Saturday at Westmoore High School. She helped the West All-State team to a 71-59 victory over the East. Priddy finished the game with 10 points, 6 rebounds, 3 steals and 1 assist.

“I thought I played really well,” Priddy said. “I wasn’t expecting to hit that many layups and hit a three; I wasn’t expecting that. And then the steals, it was just a good feeling.”

Priddy was humbled to have the opportunity to play with some of the state’s best.

“It’s a real humbling experience because you never think that you would get to this point,” she said. “You never think you would be an all-stater and it’s really great, I just want to thank God and it’s really cool.”

Priddy was joined on the West All-State team by fellow Ladycat Bre Reid, who did not play in the game due to injury. Priddy was happy to share the experience with her teammate and longtime friend.

“Bre’s been one of my best friends since the 7th grade, so it’s cool that I can just look down the bench and see one of my teammates, even if she couldn’t play.”

She has a few people that she would like to thank for her basketball success.

“God and my parents for always being there,” Priddy said.

Next for Priddy is one more All-State game with the Oklahoma Coaches Association in July and attending Southwestern Oklahoma State University to play basketball for the Lady Bulldogs.
