Three games into the season, and the Piedmont freshmen girls’ basketball team has yet to be challenged.

Let alone be defeated.

Last Thursday night saw the Lady Wildcats at home for the second time in less than a week, as they took on and took down the Lady Chicks from Chickasha by a score of 52-12.

A quick start by PHS gave the Lady Wildcats an early lead at 4-0 with 4:26 left in the first quarter.

Tough defense also played a part as Piedmont kept CHS off the scoreboard for much of the quarter, as the Lady Wildcats took a 10-4 lead into the second quarter.

An 11-5 run set up Piedmont nicely going into the halftime break at 21-9.

Things changed quickly late in the third quarter for Piedmont as a 25-11 advantage with 5:07 left increased to a 31-11 lead with 4:14 left before the fourth quarter.

Piedmont took a 41-12 advantage going into the fourth quarter as the Lady Wildcats clamped down in the final phase of the game for their third victory of the season.

Maddie Boothe led all scorers on the evening with 16 points followed by Callie Post with 11 points.

Hannah Reasoner and Maddie Sperle both put in seven points on the night, with Ashlyn Ratliff scoring six points and McKenna Kirkpatrick adding five points.
