Piedmont drops match to Bethany

The Lady Wildcat volleyball team’s season record dropped to 1-2 on Tuesday night after it lost to Bethany in straight sets.

The Lady Bronchos won 25-15, 25-20, 25-13. Piedmont took its only lead of the night on the first point of the third set.

“I feel like most of us got our heads down when we fell behind,” Gabby Moore said. “There were times when we weren’t there to cover on tips, they scored a lot on tips. We weren’t as focused as we were over the weekend. I feel like on Saturday we were more of  a team. On the bus we went over rotations but today we were all in our own little world.”

MacKenzie Davis and Paige Anderson served 100 percent of their serves on target.

“We had good energy,” Coach Jamie Hill said. “We continued to fight. We were able to go on some runs, some service runs especially. Our movement was better. We implemented a new defense this week and there were times when we kind of forgot, that left some holes. Overall, though, it was an improvement.” Read more →
