The 352 graduates from the Piedmont High School’s Class of 2024 walked across the stage, turned their tassels and tossed their caps into the air Thursday, May 16 at the Jim Norick State Fair Arena in Oklahoma City.
Piedmont had a distinguished graduate and 25 valedictorians this year.
The distinguished graduate is David Allen who has the highest grade point average.
The Piedmont Honors Vocal Ensemble sang a touching rendition of Elton John’s “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.” The Pride of Piedmont band played the “Pomp and Circumstance,” song as parents and families waved, took pictures with cellphones and cried tears of joy.
The seats were about 75% full with Piedmont patrons Thursday night inside the fairgrounds arena.
