Two-time state wrestling champion Cash Donnell made a big announcement Wednesday night.
The Piedmont star verbally committed to the University of Oklahoma, choosing the Sooners over a host of other suitors.
Im very blessed and honored to announce my commitment to @OU_Wrestling to further my athletic and academic career. I would like to thank God, family, and my coaches for all they have done for me. pic.twitter.com/MJ3mRFVpiV

The 120-pounder is considered one of the best in-state prospects in the Class of 2024. He won his second consecutive Class 6A state title in February to finish off his junior season with a 33-3 record.
Donnell is not the first Piedmont product to pick the Sooners. Former PHS state champion Josh Heindselman has compiled a 34-26 record over three seasons in Norman.
New Sooners head coach Roger Kish appears to have prioritized recruiting local talent. Bixby’s Clay Giddens and Edmond North’s Hunter Hollingsworth have also recently committed to OU.
