Mass and prayer service for John Paul Meiwes, 69, of Minco will be held on Thursday, June 30, 2022, 10 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in El Reno. Prayer service will be Wednesday, June 29, 2022, 7pm at the Huber-Benson Funeral Home Chapel in El Reno, under the direction of Huber-Reynolds Funeral Home of Minco.
John Paul Meiwes was born on Sept. 9, 1952, at Okarche to Henry Joseph and Agnes Elizabeth (Lagaly) Meiwes. He died on Monday, June 27, 2022, at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in Oklahoma City at 69 years of age.
John was raised in the Piedmont area, graduating from Piedmont High School. He made his home in Minco in 1973.
John farmed in Minco all of his adult life. He was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Union City and was a past board member of the Hinton Coop. John had the opportunity to be in a commercial for Standridge John Deer and also a Farm Credit advertisement and article for the Farmer’s Journal, which he was very proud of.
John married Jeanne Elizabeth (Wooley) Todd on March 23, 2007, at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, and they enjoyed 17 years together.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Agnes Meiwes; brothers, Stephen and Harold Meiwes; and sister, Rose (Meiwes) Hodges.
John is survived by his wife Jeanne of the home in Minco; four sons, Henry Meiwes and wife Natalie of Lookeba, Jason Meiwes and wife Shandy of Minco, Adam Meiwes and wife Lindsey of Minco and John Daniel Meiwes and wife Kellie of Midwest City; two step-sons, John Thomas Todd of Moore and Jason Alan Todd and wife Ashley of Moore; sister, Theresa Meiwes of Piedmont; brothers, Charles Meiwes and wife Carol of Altamont, Kansas, David Meiwes and wife Darlene of Okarche, Gerald Meiwes of Piedmont and Andrew Meiwes and wife Teresa of Piedmont; and 15 grandchildren – Ethan, Austin, Steven Kade, Neva Kai, Tucker, Blake, Kodi, Jack, Will, Maggie, Nolan and Jacob Meiwes, Dakota and Chevy and Emma Todd.
