Katie Cornman has won the Piedmont School Board race for Office 2 Tuesday night, the unofficial results from the Oklahoma State Election Board show.

With 10 out of 10 precincts reporting, Cornman defeated Christopher Jantz and Dr. Tamra States. Cornman had 1,016 votes, 55%, Jantz, 658 votes, 35% and States had 170 votes, 7%, the election board reported.

“Thank you to all those who came out and voted for me today. I’m excited to represent you on the Piedmont Public School Board! Thank you to everyone who campaigned with me, put out signs, and supported me financially,” Cornman stated in a social media post. “You all were a huge part of this success! Also, thank you to Chris Jantz for being an honorable opponent. He ran a good clean race, and it was exciting to watch until the end. So many of you came out today to vote and that is a win for the entire district! I’m excited to get to work and to be a part of the future of Piedmont Public Schools.”
