Twidwell
Vaden Twidwell, age 90, was called home to our Lord on Saturday, December 4, 2021. Vaden was born in Piedmont, Oklahoma on February 22, 1931 during the great depression. Like many who were born during this time, she grew up as a resilient young woman and appreciated the simple things in life like a competitive game of dominoes, good food, good friends, and laughter. She was known to have great comedic timing and loved singing loudly while soaking in the bathtub.

Vaden went to Yukon High School where she participated in basketball, home economics, and was the Annual queen in 1948. She graduated in 1949 and attended the University of Central Oklahoma on a basketball scholarship where she met her future husband Carl Twidwell. They lived in Heavener, Poteau, and Spencer, Oklahoma. Vaden was a generous and loving mother to five children, and a homemaker that enjoyed gardening, sewing, and watching the Oklahoma Thunder. She was a member of the Piedmont Methodist Church where she attended Sunday school. Additionally, she was a volunteer for the Piedmont Historical Society and assisted with some of their earlier exhibits.
