Slight increase in COVID-19 cases in Piedmont Schools

Cases of COVID-19 have increased in Piedmont Public Schools as of Jan. 7.

The number of COVID-19 cases reported in Piedmont Public Schools went up slightly in a week.

Piedmont Public Schools district officials reported there were 16 students and five staff members positive for COVID-19 on Nov. 12.

On Nov. 5 there were 12 students and one staff member positive for the virus.

On week 14 of the fall semester, the district reported, Nov. 12, the breakdown of cases.

At Piedmont High School there where five students and two staff members positive Nov. 12.

At the Middle School of Piedmont there were three students positive and no staff members.

Piedmont Intermediate School reported four students and no staff members positive.

Stone Ridge Elementary School had no cases reported.

Piedmont Elementary had three students and one staff member positive.

At Northwood Elementary there was one student and no staff members positive.

Piedmont Early Childhood Center had no students and one staff member positive.
