The Piedmont Roundup Club will not have a fundraising pumpkin patch in town this year.
A spokeswoman said there were not enough volunteers signed up this year to make the event happen. But Piedmont Roundup Club members hope to have the fundraiser in the future.
Last year, the pumpkin patch raised $2,000 for the Piedmont Area Veterans Association.
“Unfortunately, we were unable to have the volunteer numbers we needed to host a pumpkin patch this year,” reports Crystal Denker, Roundup Club secretary. “It is our hope to continue it at some point in the future.”
The pumpkin patch was located just north of Williams Food at Piedmont Road and N.W. 164/Washington Avenue.
Williams Foods has a plentiful supply of pumpkins this season, said produce manager Timm Williams.
