Piedmont’s season opener at El Reno tomorrow has been canceled due to COVID-19 issues within the El Reno football program.
El Reno reported one positive test and had multiple other players in quarantine due to contact tracing, which forced the cancellation.
Piedmont Schools announced the news on its Twitter account shortly before noon.
Piedmont is now scheduled to open the season at home Friday, Sept. 10 vs. Putnam City North.
PHS head coach Jeff Hall said Piedmont is trying to find another team to play Friday night.
