ARDMORE — Oklahoma City University signees Fares Maarouf and Beckam Hartis finished first and second Saturday in the Class 5A State Championship Track and Field boys 1600 meter run.
The boys finished as state runner-up and girls were sixth overall.
And Karelle Morgan, a junior, placed first in the girls pole vault with a final of 10 feet.
Fares Maarouf finished with a time of 4:30.57 and Beckam Hartis at 4:30.67. Colby Ferbrache was fifth at 4:37.33.
Hartis also won the boys 3200 meter run, 9:51.35 and Tanner Bailey was third, 10:00.50.
Sydnie Cox took home the gold Saturday in the girls 3200 meter run in the Class 5A championship.
Cox finished with a time of 11:49.79.
Rachel Caldwell was sixth, 12:38.41.
Naia Sheperd finished ninth, 13:17.36.
Jillian Crawford, a sophomore, also won an individual gold medal in the girls 1600 meter run in 5:25.59.
In other results, Falak Maarouf finished 15th in the 800 meter run, 2:36.98
The Piedmont boys 4X800 relay team finished second Saturday behind Durant.
Fares Maarouf, Reees Fricke, Colby Ferbrache and Beckam Hartis finished in 8:19.97 and Durant 8:09.30.
Fares Maarouf finished third in the boys 800 meter run, 1:59.88. In the run, Reese Fricke was 13th at 2:07.25.
Mason Gonzalez finished third in the boys 300 meter hurdles, 42.39.
The boys 4X400 relay team finished seventh with Johnnie Jones, Mason Gonzalez, Kanyon Cobbs and Gabe Rhone-Dunn, 3:31.77.
Gabe Rhone-Dunn finished second in the boys’ 400 meter run with a time of 52.39.
In the girls’ 800 meter run Katelyn Wilson finished tenth at 2:32.44. Falak Maarouf finished 15th, 2:36.98.
The girls 4X800 meter relay team finished fourth with Katelyn Wilson, Falak Maarouf, Jillian Crawford and Naia Sheperd, 10:25.62.
In the boys 400 meter run finals Gabe Rhone-Dunn was eighth, 52.39 and Johnnie Jones was 13th, 53.33.
