Piedmont Public Schools students will return to in-person learning for all grades after spring break.
Students in middle school and high school grades seventh through 12th, have attended school alternating two or three days a week in groups by last name.
On Monday, March, March 22 the students will return together for daily in-person learning. Younger students have attended school daily.
The Piedmont School Board voted Monday night in a regular meeting to return the schedule for middle school and high schoolers to in-person learning five days a week.
Students will be asked to wear masks at schools and practice social distancing.
The district had only three students positive for COVID-19 as of Monday, March 8. There were 34 students under quarantine. No staff members reported positive cases or quarantines.
The district had 4,513 students enrolled March 8.
Piedmont High School had 1,180 students, one positive case and four students quarantined. None of the 74 staff members had active cases.
The Middle School of Piedmont had 706 students enrolled and four students were quarantined.
Piedmont Intermediate School had 717 students enrolled, one student positive and 10 students quarantined. None of the 56 staff members were quarantined.
Northwood Elementary School had 468 students, one active case and eight students quarantined. None of the 42 staff members had active cases to report.
Piedmont Early Childhood Center had 536 students, two quarantined and none of the 63 staff members with cases.
Piedmont Elementary School had 386 students, two students quarantined and none of the 52 staff members quarantined.
Stone Ridge Elementary School had 520 students, four students quarantined and none of the 44 staff members with active cases.
