Piedmont has sixth death from COVID-19 virus

Cases of COVID-19 have increased in Piedmont Public Schools as of Jan. 7.

Piedmont has had the sixth death from COVID-19, and Canadian County has had the 69th death from the virus, the Oklahoma State Department of Health has reported.

As of Wednesday morning, Feb. 3, there had been had been 14,387 cases in Canadian County and 13,557 people in the county who have recovered from the virus since the pandemic began in March, 2020.

Piedmont has had six deaths, 1,050 cases and 984 people recover.

Yukon has had 26 deaths, 7,903 cases and 7,430 people recover.

Mustang reports 19 deaths, 2,312 cases and 2,175 people recover.

El Reno has had 16 deaths, 2,276 cases and 2,177 people recover.

Okarche has had four deaths, 225 cases and 212 people have recovered.

Kingfisher has had eight deaths, 734 cases and 682 people recover.

Union City has had one death, 140 cases and 134 people recover.

Calumet has had 145 cases and 134 people recover.

In Oklahoma City, there have been 469 deaths. Norman has had 119 deaths and Edmond has had 87 deaths.

Kingfisher County has had 19 deaths, 1,859 cases of the virus and 1,740 people recover.
Cleveland County has had 229 deaths, Tulsa County, 593 deaths and Oklahoma County 589 deaths, the health department reported.

Statewide, there have been 3,602 deaths, 392,164 cases and 360,702 people recover.
The department of health reports 373,279 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered as of Wednesday morning, Feb. 3.
