Thomas E. Stringer

Thomas E. Stringer, 69, was born in Shawnee, April 13, 1951, and departed this world on December 5, 2020 in Oklahoma City.  Thomas was raised in a military family and served his country through his service in the United States Army.  He raised his family in Watonga and worked for United States Gypsum for over 30 years.  He lived a humble life, living by the principles he taught others to live by: respect others, honor your commitments, and put family first.  He loved God, his family, and he loved his guns.  He was proud to be an American and revered all those who have served and those that are serving our country in the branches of the Armed Forces.  Spending time with his grandkids opened up his softer, gentler side and he loved teaching them how to fix and build anything.  To his family, Thomas lived a life like the cowboys he would watch and read about; a rough exterior with a soft, kindness on the inside.  Thomas was preceded in death by his son, Joseph (“Joey”), and his wife of 40 years, Socorro.  To carry on his legacy, he leaves behind his three surviving sons: Michael Lucas of South Range, Wisconsin; Marco Stringer and wife Tonya of Piedmont; Daniel Stringer and wife Ashley of Edmond.  Thomas also leaves behind his six, cherished grandchildren, Jordyn, Blake, Ashlyn, Natalie, Dylan and Luella.  You were loved, and you will be missed as you ride off into the sunset.  Good ride, Cowboy.
