The Mayor’s Tree Lighting festive event opened the holiday season with “A Piedmont Country Christmas” on Friday, Dec. 4 on Monroe Avenue.

Santa Claus paid a visit. There were horse-drawn carriage rides, and costumed characters.

This week is the “S’more Christmas” in Piedmont, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 11 at 100 Monroe Ave. N.W. and then, there will be festivities from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 18 event “A Grand ol’ Christmas,” to round out the weekends of celebrations in Piedmont before Christmas Day is here.
