Residents in Piedmont can place tree branches and limbs at their curbs to be picked up as a contract for tree removal has been approved.
The Piedmont City Council approved a contract with Ceres Environmental to pick up tree debris at curbs.
Residents will need to place their tree debris at the curbs.
The limbs can by any length. Crews will gather the debris as long as it is in a pile at the curbs.
The tree debris removal was needed due to the damage from the Oct. 26 through Oct. 28 ice storm.
The Piedmont City Council in an emergency meeting Monday, Nov. 2 authorized the city manager to negotiate a contract for tree debris removal. The cost is expected to be between $150,000 and $200,000.
More information will be posted on the city’s website, City Manager Jason Orr said.
Details about what day the crews will begin work will be announced, Orr said.
