Canadian County area Republicans won races Tuesday night for state house and state senate seats, the Oklahoma State Election Board unofficial results show.
State House District 43 incumbent, Rep. Jay Steagall, Republican, whose district represents Yukon, defeated Cassie Kinet, Independent, 72.55% to 27.45% with 12 of 12 precincts reporting. Steagall had 13,320 votes and Kinet had 5,040 votes.
In State Senate District 45, Sen. Paul Rosino, Republican, defeated Democrat Jennifer Wilkinson, 67% to 32% with 26 of 26 precincts in, the election board reported. Rosino had 23,321 votes to Wilkinson’s 11,354. The district includes a part of southwest Yukon.
Early returns showed Democratic incumbent Rep. Kendra Horn leading Republican Stephanie Bice in the U.S. Congressional District 5 race, but Bice narrowly won the race 52.06% to 47.94%, with 273 of 273 precincts reporting. Bice garnered 158,044 votes to Horn’s 145,541 votes.
Incumbent U.S. Sen. Jim Inhofe defeated Democratic challenger Abby Broyles, 62.91% to 32.76% with 100% of the precincts reporting. Inhofe had 977,813 votes to Broyles 509,186 votes.
Rep. Frank Lucas R-Cheyenne had 78% of the vote over Zoe Midyett, Democrat, 21%, with 100% of precincts in from the 3rd Congressional District. Lucas had 242,392 votes to Midyett’s 66,430 votes.
President Donald Trump defeated Joe Biden in Oklahoma with 65.37% of the vote to 32.29% with 100% of the precincts counted, the election board reported. Trump had 1,018,870 votes in the state to Biden’s 503,289 votes statewide.
