It might not have happened in modern times, but a Piedmont Wildcats football game is going to be played on a Saturday afternoon during the regular season.
Due to cancellations in the 2020 season, the Piedmont Wildcats will face Class 5A powerhouse Carl Albert at 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 17 at F&M Bank Stadium in a game that had been scheduled for Thursday, Oct. 15.
Piedmont has had two games canceled this year. Their game with Guthrie was canceled hours before the game Sept. 25. The Oct. 9 game with Western Heights was canceled due to COVID-19 concerns at the southwest Oklahoma City school district.
Piedmont’s last game was a 57-0 victory over Guymon, Oct. 2. The Wildcats are 3-1 on the season.
Carl Albert is 4-1. The Titans defeated Midwest City to open their season 41-26. The Titans beat Bishop McGuinness 56-35 Friday, Oct. 9. Their one loss was to Bixby, Oct. 2, 56-14.
