WOODWARD — Paislee Clark hit a grand slam in the sixth inning, and the Piedmont Wildcats softball team opened up a 16-4 lead Tuesday night against The Woodward Boomers.
Pitcher Kylynn Brunson’s strikeout in the bottom of the sixth inning ended the game.
The Wildcats scored 11 runs in the top of the sixth inning.
The team has clinched the 5A Division 2 championship and will host a regional tournament Wednesday, Oct. 7.
The team was 23-4 going into the game against Woodward.
